After a comfortable and on time flight from New York we arrived at 11am on Friday the 2nd of August in London. Luckily Warwick was working from home so we caught the underground to his flat in Clapham South where we spent the afternoon in the sun at a beer garden. Later that evening we headed to Ben’s flat in Brixton where we spent five nights on an air mattress in their lounge – thanks again!!! During our five nights we attended a bottomless brunch in Shoreditch, spent a day recovering from the bottomless brunch, had two days of ultra tourist activities and one last day of just chilling and visiting the Tate Modern gallery. A highlight was definitely catching up with friends from back home, we loved having beers under the tower bridge and dinner out with Warwick which was followed by seeing A Mid Summer Nights Dream live. Shout out to Warwick for treating us for this awesome evening and to Ben, Michael and the flat mates for having us stay. This was a much needed and appreciated chance to feel like we really fit in somewhere for the first time in seven months.
Tourist pics below. Buckingham Palace changing of the guard was hectic, Westminster Abbey was beautiful, Big Ben looking good under construction, Downing Street highly secure, not a lot happens at Portobello Road on a Monday, could live at Kensington Palace, Tower of London and the Crown Jewels are incredible, saw the inspiration for the landscapes of Salvador Dali’s paintings when we were in Bolivia, + some other iconic shots of buses and St Paul’s as well as one of Londons greatest assets – Warwick.

London is definitely the busiest place we have been so far with the highest concentration on tourists out and about. After five nights we began to make our way North with the next post covering our time in Cambridge and York.
